The Dog House
The Dog House is a small building set up like a home environment to meet the needs of both rescue dogs and pet loving humans. The Dog House is a collaboration between two rescue groups, Brass Knuckle Pin Ups (BKPUR,) and Hands to Paws (H2P.) This amazing concept was the brainchild of Kathy Ellis, founder of H2P. When Cherish Danforth, founder of BKPUR, heard the idea, she went full throttle to make it become a reality. There are so many people who would love to foster but cannot due to college commitments, home dynamics, housing restrictions, etc. And there are so many dogs without fosters who miss out on getting acclimated to a home environment and enjoying the relaxing one on one time with a human. The Dog House meets the needs of both groups.
All volunteers must complete at least 3 shadow sessions and be approved to become a Professional Cuddler, where they can then set their own schedule online and get a break from reality while helping a rescue pup as well. Each cuddle session is $1 per person per visit to help continue this amazing project. So come to The Dog House, kick up your feet, read a book watch a movie or work on your laptop all while in the company of a rescue dog. If this sounds like heaven on earth to you, email us and express your interest in The Dog House and we will send you more information. |
