Our memorial for special pets
Dogs, lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog, and there's going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can't support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There's such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price. Maybe loving dogs is a way we do penance for all the other illusions we allow ourselves and the mistakes we make because of those illusions. |

$100 donated by Julie Aker in memory of Chloe's passing and in honor of Zel.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jules. She touched everyone’s hearts at Hands to Paws. We did not find her a forever home here on earth, but she found her own Forever Home in Heaven. Good-bye girl. We will never forget you!
Jules certainly was special. She was very chill and enjoyed laying in the sun or curling up in a dirt hole. She would give you this look of love and appreciation. I miss her so much. Jules was my favorite dog. It really hurts to know I won’t hear her silly bark or see her jump up and land with her toes spread wide like she was trying to catch every little bit of that fall. She was so loving in her own special way. |
A special donation has been made in memory of a wonderful canine:
